About the Presentation
In this time of uncertainty we can take comfort in singing together, even on Zoom. This program will be an evening of harmony in every sense of the word, whether the Balkan songs presented are among your old favorites or new to you. We aim to evoke the “kef” (intense pleasure) of singing with old friends around the table at a celebration or in the village tavern or coffeehouse (kafana.) Song lyrics will be available to download or to be viewed onscreen. And, we are happy to announce that we will have the intense pleasure of singing to live music accompaniment, presented by the “Balkan Kefana” band.
About Henry
Henry Goldberg has been singing and playing Balkan music for over 50 years, and his favorite way to do it is singing in groups. Come sing along (or just enjoy listening or even dancing) as Henry presents some traditional songs from Macedonia, Bulgaria, and thereabouts.
