Hungarian/Transylvanian Concert and Dance

FAC and Forgás Hungarian Dancing present a Hungarian/Transylvanian Concert and Dance (Táncház) wih music by Beth Bahia Cohen, Mimi Rabson, and Michael Harrist, Saturday, October 13, 2018, 7:30 pm, at First Unitarian Society in Newton Church, 1326 Washington Street, West Newton, MA.

Balkan Music Night

FAC presents an annual six-hour feast of Balkan music and dance, Saturday, March 16, 2019, 7 pm–1 am, at 51 Walden Performing Arts Center, Concord, Massachusetts.

Tour of Czech Republic with Jan Pumpr and Marcie Van Cleave

FAC partners with Dvorana Travel of Prague in April 2019 to present a tour that includes visits to Vienna, Austria, and to Brno, Prague, and other places of interest in picturesque Moravia and Bohemia. The Tour Extension visits Wolkenstein, Germany, and sites in western and northwestern Bohemia before returning to Prague.

FAC presents a variety of workshops, celebrations, themed Friday dances, and other special occasions throughout the year, in addition to our regular weekly, monthly, and annual events. Stay tuned for details!

School and community programs

FAC offers school-based folk dance and music programs and residencies that promote acceptance and appreciation of diverse cultures. These programs are designed to complement many aspects of a school’s curriculum and can be tailored to reflect the ethnic composition of local populations. FAC dance leaders are also involved in community outreach projects with adult education programs, senior citizens, Girl Scouts, Campfire Boys and Girls, and special needs groups.
