Car donation program
The Folk Arts Center is a member of the Donation Line, LLC fundraising program for nonpprofit organizations. Donation Line acts as FAC’s administrative agent in acquiring and selling donated used vehicles. Vehicles are defined as: cars, boats, trucks, RVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, vans, jet skis, motor homes, or buses. Most vehicles are accepted, running or not, unless their value is less than the cost of towing. A donor must have clear title to the vehicle in order to donate it. FAC gets a minimum of 20% and up to 80% of each $100 for which the vehicle is sold, and the donor gets a tax deduction for either the fair market value of the vehicle (if it sold for less than $500) or the gross proceeds from the sale of the vehicle (if over $500).
To donate your used vehicle, go to the Donation Line website. Fill in the Vehicle Donation Form, designating the Folk Arts Center as your selected charity. (You can also call Donation Line toll-free at 1-877-CARS-4-US and ask for extension 1041, FAC’s number.) Within 2-3 business days, you will be contacted by the towing company that will pick up your car, boat, etc. at no cost to you or to FAC. The tow truck operator will provide you with a pickup receipt. In 6-8 weeks, you will receive a letter from FAC acknowledging your tax-deductible donation.
