Friday dance specials

Several times each year, the weekly Friday folk dance series in Arlington, MA presents evenings with specific themes, such as Bulgarian, Croatian, French, or Romanian music and dancing for all, and the annual Chocolate Chip Dessert Bake-Off. Coming soon: Bulgarian Night with music by Divi Zheni and Zornitsa on March 9, 2012.

Trips abroad

Experienced FAC leaders offer occasional guided tours to other countries, focusing on traditional culture. Past tour destinations include Bulgaria, Portugal, and the Czech Republic. In 2012, FAC will again partner with Dvorana Travel of Prague for a tour in the Czech Republic, May 12–20.

Concerts

FAC sponsors occasional concerts by visiting folk musicians, typically followed by dancing for all. Past concerts have featured Eastern European, Bulgarian, Celtic, Asturian, Macedonian, Romani, and Québécois music. Another Celtic Cruise to benefit FAC with a concert on Gloucester Harbor is scheduled for June 3, 2012.
