Music workshops are held during the mornings and Saturday afternoon. The Folk Dance Leaders’ Forum will meet during the Saturday mid-afternoon free time. Hulbert Outdoor Center
Hulbert Outdoor Center is a scenic country retreat, located in Vermont’s Upper Connecticut River Valley on the shores of Lake Morey. Over 500 acres of young forests, bluffs, and gently rolling countryside provide a fine setting for winter hikes and snow sports.
Facilities at Hulbert include a rambling farmhouse with a large dining hall, a new dance floor, and other smaller spaces for scheduled and spontaneous events. Outdoor options include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, snowboarding, and ice skating.
Hulbert has modern warm cabins, each with three or four bedrooms (with two sets of bunk beds per room) and two full baths. A very limited number of double rooms are available, assigned on a pre-registered, first-come, first-served basis. Campers bring their own towels, pillows, and twin-sized bedding or sleeping bags. If you arrange your own alternative accommodations, you may register to join us for activities and meals, for activities only, or for Saturday afternoon and evening events.
Fairlee, VT is 150 miles from Boston, 275 miles from New York City, and 175 miles from Montreal. See directions for details.
Some Hulbert Outdoor Center rules:
- No pets.
- Rooms cannot be locked. Please leave your valuables at home or lock them in your car.
- No smoking in any camp buildings. If you smoke outside, please use “butt cans.”
- No open fires except in the fireplaces.
- No illegal substances.
- Vermont state law prohibits drinking alcoholic beverages for those under age 21.
- Once nightly parties are over at 11 pm, please respect people’s need to sleep.
- Participants who bring children are responsible for their children at all times at Hulbert.
