The Folk Dance Leaders’ Forum

a gathering for teachers and organizers of recreational folk dance groups to share ideas and information about the issues involved in running a dance series

WinterJam presents instrumental, vocal, and rhythm workshops by expert teachers, a dance/movement workshop, the Folk Dance Leaders’ Forum on Saturday afternoon, a folk dance party on Saturday evening, and opportunities for enjoying the outdoors as well as relaxing by the fireplace. All ages and abilities are welcome at WinterJam, and families are especially encouraged to attend.

Folk Dance Leaders’ Forum

If you teach or lead a group that does international folk dance socially, come to meet other teachers and leaders in the international folk dance community. If you are wondering how other groups are attracting new members, adapting their dances to aging bodies, or using the latest digital music devices, please consider attending. The Forum will meet during the Saturday afternoon free time. We will put our talents to use at the Saturday evening party.

Full-time and part-time participation options

Full-time WinterJam campers register for activities, meals, and lodging. If you do not plan to stay overnight at Hulbert, you may join us full-time just for activities and meals, or for activities only. You may also attend part-time, joining us for activities and meals as you choose, or for the Folk Dance Leaders’ Forum events. We encourage part-timers to register in advance for activities. Meals for part-timers require advance registration.

The Registration page lists fees for full-time participants and for the Folk Dance Leaders’ Forum events. See the Schedule page for detailed information and part-time fees.
