Kids at Pinewoods

Families are welcome

Pinewoods is a magical place for everyone, especially for kids! The Folk Arts Center welcomes families to attend our sessions. Pinewoods Camp was not originally designed for children; campers under age 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. There are no cribs or other special equipment for kids in camp, so parents should bring a portable crib for small children. Regular beds are assigned for kids aged 3 and up.

Registration policy

The FolkDays session accepts up to thirty children aged 3–14 and offers separate classes for them. Classes include dancing, arts and crafts, singing, and other activities. The Weekend session, though geared toward adults, accepts up to twelve children aged 3–14. If there are more children aged 3–14 interested in attending either session than slots available, families will be chosen in a lottery on March 1, with preference given to those attending Both Sessions. For any session, teens aged 15–17 register as adults, but they must attend with a parent or guardian. Children under age 3 are not counted in the numbers accepted and are welcome to attend with their parents. Fees are on the Registration page.

FAC and Pinewoods Camp policies for campers under age 18

Parents and guardians bringing children under age 18 to FAC Pinewoods must first read the Policies for families and children. Parents and guardians must complete a Parent Responsibility Form for each child coming to camp, and each child aged 10–17 must complete the Camper Commitment Form. These forms must be printed out, completed, and sent to the FAC office with final payment before arrival at camp.
