A Boston tradition since 1971, FAC’s Tuesday outdoor summer folk dance series offers basic folk dance instruction, often accompanied by live music. It is not necessary to have previous dance experience or to attend with a partner. For more information, see About folk dancing.
Dances are held in Copley Square near the corner of Boylston and Dartmouth Streets in Boston’s Back Bay, on the plaza in front of historic Trinity Church. To get there by public transportation, take any MBTA Green Line trolley to Copley Station.
FAC’s FolkFone provides a recorded announcement with information about current Boston-area folk dance events. For the final word on cancellation of the Copley Square dance because of inclement weather or other unforeseen events, call the FolkFone after 5 pm on July and August Tuesdays at 781-438-4389, or check FAC’s Facebook page or the home page on this website.
