Donations
Personal donations
Cash contributions of any size are always sincerely welcomed. Some FAC supporters choose to make in-honor-of and memorial gifts. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law; FAC is an incorporated 501(c)(3) educational organization. Checks may be made payable to Folk Arts Center of New England and mailed to:
Folk Arts Center of New England
10 Franklin Street
Stoneham, MA 02180-1862
We are also grateful for donations of used vehicles in the car donation program, and for gifts of appreciated stocks and other assets in the stock donation program. We encourage inquiries about bequests; please contact us for more information about planned giving.
Another way to support FAC is through the GoodSearch and GoodShop programs: each time that you use their web pages (or an optional toolbar) to search the Internet or shop online with FAC as your designated charity, a donation will be made to FAC at no cost to you.
You can also support FAC, and get 10% off your copying/printing bills, through the Staples Rewards discount program for businesses.
Donations of frequent flyer miles help reduce the expense of bringing instructors and performers to FAC events. Please contact us if you can help this way.
Folk Arts Center members and friends contribute much-needed funds through their donations and purchases in support of FAC’s annual Benefit Bash, auctions at Pinewoods Camp and Boston Harbor Scottish Fiddle School, and occasional tag sales and other fundraisers. Watch for news of an Electronics Recycling Day and a Celtic Cruise to benefit FAC in 2012.
Corporate donations
Some of the ways that businesses generously support Folk Arts Center programs include matching the FAC donations of their employees, funding the Copley Square summer dances, donating items to FAC fundraising events, providing refreshments for Balkan Music Night, and giving FAC a percentage of profits from the sale of their products to our members.
Grants
FAC is grateful to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Melrose Cultural Council, the City of Boston Trust Department, and other funding agencies for their financial support. The Massachusetts Cultural Council has renewed FAC’s Cultural Investment Portfolio grant for fiscal year 2012.
